The L.O.T. (Leaders of Tomorrow) Boys Mentoring Program is an
after-school program for 5th grade boys. Young men
will receive instruction and accountability in the following
areas: academic performance, morals & values.
–Each student will receive assistance on homework and have
access to a fifth grade teacher who is familiar with their
work. Young men will be held accountable for their grades.
Students with excellent academic and behavioral performance, as
well as those who show great improvement, will receive
encouragement, recognition, and in many cases rewards.
elder from a local church conducts studies with the young men
once week that will train them in the value and understanding of
their choices both inside and outside of school. During these
lessons, fifth grade boys will develop a sense of self-worth and
a determination to succeed in life.
The L.O.T. after-school program works with 5th grade boys at
a Title 1 funded school. L.O.T. plans to mentor at least 20
young men each school year. As funding increases, IYN Services
would like to see this program expand to other schools in the
Annapolis and surrounding areas.
